What you'll be doing
A day as an HCA
- Providing personal care with warmth and dignity — washing, dressing, toileting and mobility support.
- Helping residents at mealtimes and encouraging good hydration and nutrition.
- Supporting moving and handling safely, using the right equipment and techniques.
- Being a friendly, reassuring presence — companionship matters as much as the practical care.
- Keeping accurate care records and reporting any changes to the nurse or senior on duty.
- Following safeguarding, infection-control and health-and-safety practices at all times.
What we're looking for
Is this you?
- Compassion first. A genuinely caring, patient nature and respect for older people.
- Some care experience is preferred — but a great attitude goes a long way.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS — or a willingness to obtain one (we'll help).
- Satisfactory references covering your recent work history.
- Reliable and a team player, comfortable using a smartphone app for your shifts.

We pay competitive hourly rates with enhancements for nights, weekends and bank holidays. You choose how much you work — pick up a shift here and there, or build a full week around your regulars. No minimum commitment, ever.

Do I choose my own shifts?
Yes. You see every available HCA shift that matches your grade in the app and accept the ones that suit you — from your phone, whenever you like. There's no obligation to take a minimum number of shifts.
How and when do I get paid?
You submit your timesheet from the app once you finish a shift. When the home approves it, payment follows on our regular weekly pay run.
What is rebook?
When a home likes working with you, they can invite you back directly for their next shift — before it ever reaches the open pool. It means steadier work and familiar faces, week after week.
What do I need to get started?
The right to work in the UK, an enhanced DBS (or willingness to get one), satisfactory references and, ideally, some previous care experience. We'll guide you through document verification when you register.
